Mount Sinai South Nassau presents:
TRUTH IN MEDICINE
Will you be less active after joint replacement surgery?
No. Many people who have had a hip or knee joint replaced find that they are able to resume much of the active lifestyle they enjoyed prior to the surgery. Activities like walking, biking, hiking, traveling and gardening can be enjoyed again when the pain is gone. In general, most patients are advised to avoid running, jumping, or impact sports after surgery. It is hoped that these recommendations will make your joint replacement last longer.
